PRIDE
PRIDE seeks to build a supportive and affirming atmosphere for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual employees – and their straight allies. The mission is to raise awareness about the workplace challenges faced by LGBTQIA staff and faculty.
Principal Empowerment Officer Chris Ruiz
Chris Ruiz (he/him) works as a Staff and Community Development Coordinator in Housing and Residence Life. He has worked at Georgia Tech for 15 years and has held various positions within Housing, served on numerous committees around campus, and advised a couple of student organizations. Providing resources, support, and community is at the heart of everything he does, which is why he served on the Atlanta Pride Committee for 8 years and was selected to serve on the Atlanta Pride Board of Directors for two years. Additionally, he has been a part of the Pride ERG and the HOLA ERG since they were introduced here at Georgia Tech. In his spare time, he likes to hang out with his friends, play tennis, consume as much pop culture as possible, do trivia, and volunteer for the LGBTQIA+ community. He is excited to continue serving the Pride ERG and looks forward to meeting everyone as they begin or continue on the road to success at Georgia Tech.
